East Hampton Cottage

This cute East Hampton cottage had brand new flooring installed and finished in the living room and bedrooms. The problem was that the contractor "forgot" to use glue under wide plank flooring and did not really fasten the subfloor.

It took about 5 months till Floor11 received a call from a sad owner who had just spent a fortune on renovations and was finally finished with the project and ready to move in. But, what she realized when she moved in was that the wood had moved and thus formed 1/2"-1" gaps that could make you seriously hurt your toes.  In addition, it had become so loose that you could get seasick by walking on it.  

Solution:

We came in and marked every single board. Then we tore up the floor and reinstalled and finished the entire space. As a bonus we got to refinish the old pine flooring in the family room with unique pickled and bleached colors.
